Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Creighton University

I live in Omaha, NE, with my husband Stephen Maderak, who is a developer at Docxonomy, and with our three small children. I grew up in Decatur, GA, and I lived in Indiana first during college at the Unversity of Notre Dame and then for my first postdoctoral appointment at Indiana University, Bloomington. I also spent a year in Oxford, England, as an undergraduate, five years in New Jersey as a graduate student at Princeton University, and three years in upstate New York as a postdoc at Syracuse University. I miss the snow, but only a little!

We have fish, many plants, and an airplane. The fish liven up the living room, the plants spice our food and feed the children as they browse in the backyard, and the airplane takes us around the country to see our family and friends and visit beautiful places. When I am not reading to or being climbed on by small children, I am often exploring the world from above, either in our own plane or with the Civil Air Patrol, where I volunteer as a search and rescue trainer and flight instructor.
